Our Garden: Pacific Patch

At Pacific Patch, our 22,500ft2 garden supplies fresh herbs, vegetables, and garnishes directly to our team at Carve Kitchen + Meatery, Velocity Lounge & Driving Range, and Sunset Terrace Patio + Grill. Every bit of what we grow is used exclusively within these spaces, reflecting our commitment to a truly hyper-local dining experience. While seasonal changes affect availability, our garden is cultivated without synthetic pesticides. Thanks to our greenhouse, we transition smoothly from warm-season to cold-season crops, aiming to harvest fresh produce year-round.

Sustainable Composting

We operate a small-scale composting program focused on pre-consumer kitchen scraps and green waste from our groundskeeping team. This compost enriches the soil in our garden beds, helping us close the loop on food production and significantly reducing waste. Currently, we divert approximately 8,000 pounds of food scraps annually from landfill.

Our Bees

Naturally Pacific Resort proudly supports two thriving on-site beehives. These hardworking bees play a crucial role in pollinating our garden’s herbs, vegetables, and flowers, helping us grow healthy, flavourful produce naturally. Beyond enhancing our harvest, the bees contribute to the local ecosystem and biodiversity. We carefully nurture our hives to keep them strong and productive throughout the seasons.

At our course, sustainability isn’t just a practice, it’s a promise. Every decision we make supports the land, the game, and the diverse ecosystem we’re lucky to call home.

We conserve water with advanced irrigation software that waters by the second, because every drop counts. Instead of harsh chemicals, we protect turf health by working with nature, stimulating plants’ natural defenses for safer, longer-lasting results.

When storms bring down trees, nothing goes to waste. We repurpose every branch into nutrient-rich wood chips and return them to our native areas and garden paths. Alongside these spaces, a beautiful creek flows through our property. Its edges are lined with thriving native species that we work hard to protect. You can help too. If your ball lands in an area marked with green and white stakes, simply take a free drop and leave nature undisturbed.

Our sustainability efforts extend beyond the course as well. In our gardens, we grow every vegetable from seed, then harvest, collect, and replant season after season. It’s a continuous cycle of growth with no outside sourcing needed.

Through these efforts, we are building a course that thrives in balance with nature today and for generations of golfers to come.

Our Initiatives

Wilderness International

Naturally Pacific Resort has partnered with Wilderness International to protect threatened Canadian rainforest. Every time a guest opts out of daily housekeeping, we will protect 1 square metre of rainforest.
